What parents say

Enis R.
Meine Tochter hat Schule früher wie eine To do Liste abgearbeitet. Bei Lumos denkt sie wirklich. Das merkt man sogar beim Abendessen.

Rahel G.
They have high standards, but it never feels stressful. It feels like someone finally built school for how kids learn.

Manuela S.
The one on one time is the secret weapon. Small gaps get fixed early, so confidence compounds.

Marc S.
Lumos is calm in the best way. Long focus, real projects, and teachers who pay attention. My son comes home proud.

Elisabet M.
We joined for academics, but we stayed for the culture. The kids are kind, curious, and ambitious, and it rubs off.

Sergio B.
My child doesn’t memorize things anymore — she asks better questions, sticks with hard problems, and actually enjoys the challenge. That’s new.
Intentionally small
Small to adapt to an accelerating future. Small to personalize and know each child inside out.
1.
One on one attention
Every child gets regular one on one coaching. Not as remediation, but as a core part of learning.
2.
Learning meets method
We use what the science of learning shows works: Retrieval, spacing, feedback, and productive struggle.
3.
Real work, not busywork
Less busywork means more time for what matters: projects, purpose, and growing up strong.
4.
What makes
Lumos School
different
Our learning pillars
These four pillars describe how learning actually happens at Lumos School.
Core academics
No one knows what the future will look like. But strong foundations in math, science, and clear thinking will always matter — as will the ability to speak and write with precision. That’s what we focus on.
Projects
Kids learn best by doing. That’s why we start with real problems, not abstract theory. They work in teams, build something that matters, and present it to the community. In the process, they learn to collaborate, think clearly, and deliver on time.
Expeditions
Real learning doesn’t end at the classroom door. Our expeditions push kids out of their comfort zone — physically, mentally, and socially. They meet new people, explore new places, and build a kind of strength you can’t learn at a desk.
Self-reflection
Learning starts with self-knowledge. Kids who reflect learn to think clearly, speak honestly, and grow with others. That’s why we begin and end each day with reflection, dialogue, and shared insight — it builds character, focus, and depth.
How it all comes together
This is where ideas turn into reality. Below, you’ll see what life at Lumos actually feels like — and how to join if it’s a fit.
From focussed learning blocks, mixed-age peers, real projects and expeditions — this is what your child’s day looks like at Lumos. You’ll also find details on our campus, our weekly and annual rhythm, and how we involve parents without overwhelming them.
Lumos School is small on purpose. We’re selective — not based on test scores, but on mindset. We’re looking for kids and families who believe that learning should be personal, challenging, and driven by curiosity. If that sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
